Add 20-50 Beats Per Minute To Your Playing In Just 5 Days
Most intermediate guitarists stay stuck for years because they're taught to do it the hard way -- I'll show you the fix in 5 days.
Become The Guitarist You Know You Can Be
You've been playing guitar for years. You can play some pretty advanced stuff, but you know your technique isn't where you want it to be.
Maybe you've hit a frustrating speed ceiling. Maybe your picking falls apart when you push the tempo. Or maybe you've started wondering whether some fundamental technical habits are holding you back from becoming the guitarist you know you can be.
I understand that feeling.
When I was in high school, I desperately wanted to be a great guitarist. I remember sitting in the band room with some older guitarists I looked up to, passing a guitar around and taking turns playing. When the guitar finally reached me, I froze. I wasn't playing the way I wanted to, and I felt like everyone could see the gap between the guitarist I wanted to be and the guitarist I actually was.
I knew I never wanted to feel that way again.
That experience changed the way I approached guitar. I invested in coaching and discovered that some of the things I thought I needed to improve were actually fundamental problems with my technique. I studied psychology and learned principles that explain how we acquire skills efficiently. And through strength training, I discovered how systematic progression could be applied to building speed and physical ability on guitar.
Those discoveries became the foundation of how I coach today.
I'm Zak Char, a professionally trained guitarist with nearly two decades of experience, and I'm also a school psychologist. I combine technical guitar instruction with scientifically grounded learning principles and a systematic approach to speed development to help rock and metal guitarists identify what's holding them back, fix their underlying technique, and build greater speed, control, precision, and confidence.
I don't want to simply teach you more guitar licks or give you another exercise to practice.
I want to help you become the guitarist you know you can be—so you can play with the confidence that comes from knowing your technique will hold up when it matters.
And ultimately, I believe the abilities we've been given are meant to be developed and used well. My goal is to use what I've learned about guitar, learning, and human performance to serve other guitarists and glorify God with the instrument He's given me.
